Vincent Lyn has been a movie star, pop music icon, kickboxing champion and one of the hottest male models in the world. But what makes him complete is practicing his family’s Ling Gar style of kung-fu. Half British, half Chinese, a 10th degree Black Sash and scholar of Chinese Medicine and heir of his family kung-fu style, Ling Gar.
An Elite model for Levi’s, Valentino, Gucci, Puma, Adidas, and Yves Saint Laurent, he has been in great demand as an Asian action movie star winning roles in some of Hong Kong’s most popular and exciting cult films. His first movie 'Tiger Cage' was made in Hong Kong under the direction of Yuen Woo Ping the same man who action directed films like 'The Matrix', 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon', 'Charlie’s Angels', and 'Kill Bill'. Tiger Cage became an international blockbuster and opened the doors of this world to him. He has done 25 more movies including 'Blonde Fury' (with Cynthia Rothrock), 'In the Line of Duty V- Middle Man' (with Cynthia Khan), and 'Outlaw Brothers' (with Yukari Oshima) and playing the lead villain who fought Jackie Chan in the climatic battle sequence of 'Operation Condor'. “Jackie Chan called Vincent Lyn one of the best fighters he has ever worked with!” Also in Chan’s autobiographical bestseller titled 'I am Jackie Chan' went onto list his showdown with Lyn as one of his Top Ten Best Fights of all time.
A graduate of the prestigious Boston Conservatory of Music majoring in piano performance and composition Lyn maintained his parallel passion by composing 'Canto-pop' songs for recording artists with PolyGram Records, two of which became top ten hits. In 1999 Lyn was inducted into the World Sports Medicine Hall of Fame for making outstanding contributions to the field of Sports Medicine and also was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in two categories, one for Grandmaster of the year and Best Martial Arts Actor of the year. In 2001 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame. Since then he has been inducted over ten times into the Hall of Fame. In addition Lyn was the 1983-1984 U.S National Middleweight Kickboxing champion, and 1985 and 1987 World Kickboxing champion.
Since 2003 until the present Lyn has written numerous articles for Budo Magazine and released seven instructional videos with Budo International. They have been released in seven languages and distributed in 54 countries. He has been featured in numerous books, magazine covers and has appeared in over 200 magazine and newspaper articles throughout the world. In April 2007 Vincent was invited to St. Petersburg, Russia as a special guest to participate in the first ever Martial Arts Olympics East-West Open. He gave a dazzling piano performance and spectacular martial arts demonstration in front of 20,000 spectators for the opening ceremony. In April 2009 Lyn's first book was published titled 'The Ling Gar Legacy - Kung Fu in the Real World' with the foreword written by Yuen Woo Ping. It has had international acclaim and to great reviews and is available on Amazon. Lyn collaborated on a comic book titled 'Kung Fu Star'. The first issue was released in 2010 as a monthly series in Budo Magazine. The story is based on his extraordinary experiences as a Hong Kong film star. The first issue was released internationally at the NYC Comic-Con in 2012.
On October 14th, 2011 Lyn gave his debut performance to a sold out crowd at Carnegie Hall in NYC in connection with the release of his Nominated Album 'Heaven Bound.' The album was voted in the Top Ten Album of the Year for Unsigned Artists and Top 40 Jazz Album of the Year. On June 6th, 2013 Lyn released his new smooth jazz album. It's also available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby. With the success of his recent projects Vincent performed at Carnegie Hall Dec 13th, 2013 and most recently October 4th, 2014 and again both sold out shows. Also the day of the concert he was featured on the cover of the Wall Street Journal. His most recent CD release "Vincent Lyn Live in New York City" (a live recording from Carnegie Hall). It has garnered 5 star reviews and was #12 for 8 weeks on the World Jazz Charts. On November 8th, 2014 at the Urban Action Showcase Expo - HBO/Cinemax sponsored event, Lyn was awarded the Fists of Legends "Hong Kong Legends Cinema Award". His anticipated 4th CD "Redemption" was released May 1st with his upcoming concert at Carnegie Hall/ Zankel Hall October 9th, 2015.
Lyn is the CEO of Pro-Force Security Corp which he started in 2003. He is in great demand as an expert in Corporate Security, Executive Protection & Threat Assessment along with all areas of Defensive Tactics, Knife Survival and Firearms training. He is also a Licensed Private Investigator, a Certified Police Instructor and Air Marshall Instructor by the Department of Air Security for the International Confederation of Police & Security Experts. As of 2016 he became a US Special Envoy to the United Nations as an Ambassador for Children's Rights. The Director of Creative Development with African Views an NGO with the U.N. His most recent Rescue & Recovery Project to free child slaves from trafficking in Africa and his own Foundation WeCanSaveChildren.org He continues to travel throughout the world giving lectures and seminars in the areas of his expertise. Vincent currently resides in NYC.
